That includes chemicals, gasoline, oil and fuel, asbestos, mold-contaminated material, medical or biohazard waste, propane tanks and other pressurized cylinders, paint and solvents, fireworks or explosives, and in-ground or large outdoor oil tanks. Junk removal loads go to donation centers, recyclers and approved disposal facilities. Hazardous materials need special handling that those facilities, and our trucks, aren’t set up for. Keeping them out of the load protects our crew, your property and the places your items end up.
Older homes and asbestos
Many houses around Canonsburg and the South Hills have plaster-and-lath walls, and older plaster, joint compound, roofing, flooring and pipe wrap can contain asbestos. Tell us if any material might contain asbestos. We remove drywall and similar materials once they’ve been confirmed free of asbestos.
Light demolition limits
We don’t remove load-bearing walls, cut utilities or handle asbestos.
Clearing out hazardous products first
Before an estate, garage or storage cleanout, set aside aerosols, chemicals and paint so they stay out of the load. If you’re not sure about something, leave it and ask.
